Battery Module Assembly Yield Calculator
Module yield reflects cell loading, compression, welding, adhesive, sensing, and EOL test stability. This calculator helps module assembly teams see whether the process is producing accepted modules at the required first-pass rate.
What this calculator does
- Calculate module assembly first-pass yield from accepted modules, total modules built, and target yield.
- a module line needs to measure whether assembly and test output is meeting the yield target before packs are starved
- Returns the first-pass yield for battery module assembly.
Formula used
- Module assembly yield = accepted modules รท total modules built/tested
- Module yield gap to target = target module yield - calculated yield
Inputs explained
- Accepted modules: Count modules passing assembly and test without rework.
- Total modules built/tested: Use the matching module population for the same shift, lot, or day.
- Target module yield: Use the line, program, or launch yield target.
How to use the result
- Use it for module line tier meetings, pack supply checks, and defect containment decisions.
- It does not separate weld, adhesive, compression, BMS, sensor, or EOL failure modes; review defect Pareto before acting.
Common questions
- Should reworked modules count as accepted? Not for first-pass yield. Count them only if your KPI intentionally includes rework recovery.
- Should modules held for inspection count in the total? Include them if they entered the same yield gate and are part of the production population.
- What does the gap tell me? It shows how many percentage points the module line is above or below the target.
- How can I use the result? Use it to protect pack assembly supply, prioritize module defect reduction, and decide whether containment is needed.
