  • What is a good structural steel yield for crane fabrication? Mature heavy-steel shops target 95 percent or higher first-pass yield. The 3.2 percent in the default example is far below target and signals a systemic process problem, not random defects.
  • What does yield gap to target mean? It is your yield minus the target. At 3.2 percent yield against a 95 percent target the gap is 91.8 points, showing almost the entire batch is failing acceptance.
