WMS, Warehouse Labor & Fulfillment calculator
Fulfillment SLA Attainment Calculator
Fulfillment SLA attainment measures the share of customer orders that ship (or deliver) inside the cutoff you promised, whether that's same-day, 24-hour, or a carrier hand-off time. Warehouse operations managers, 3PL account teams, and DTC fulfillment leads track it because most enterprise and marketplace contracts tie penalties or chargebacks to it. A one-point drop can mean thousands in penalties and a churned retail partner. It's the single number a client checks first on a QBR deck.
What this calculator does
- Estimate fulfillment sla attainment for wms, warehouse labor and fulfillment using production-ready inputs so teams can track KPI performance and decide whether corrective action is needed.
- Use it when fulfillment sla attainment in wms, warehouse labor and fulfillment needs a clean rate and gap-to-target you can put on a tier board.
- It computes the percentage of eligible orders that met your fulfillment SLA and the point gap between that rate and your target.
Formula used
- Fulfillment sla attainment rate = fulfillment sla attainment count ÷ total fulfillment sla attainment population × 100
- Fulfillment sla attainment gap to target = target fulfillment sla attainment rate − fulfillment sla attainment rate (positive = below target)
Inputs explained
- Orders shipped within SLA window:
- Total orders due for fulfillment:
- Contractual SLA attainment target:
How to use the result
- Use it in daily wave reviews, weekly 3PL scorecards, and contract QBRs to spot slippage before penalties trigger.
- It counts pass/fail against the window but says nothing about how late the failures were, a 5-minute miss and a 3-day miss both count as one failed order.
Current U.S. benchmarks
- On-highway diesel averages $5.65 per gallon this week (EIA), trending up over recent periods. Truck tonnage is up 0.8% year over year (ATA via FRED).
- Manufacturing hourly earnings average $30.35 (BLS, Jul 2026), up 4.2% from a year earlier. Median machinist pay is $28.24/hr (OEWS 2025), with state medians on each state page. Manufacturers have 481k open positions nationally (BLS JOLTS).
Common questions
- How do you calculate fulfillment SLA attainment? Divide orders shipped within the SLA window by total eligible orders, then multiply by 100. With 940 on-time orders out of 1000, attainment is 94%.
- What is a good fulfillment SLA attainment rate? Enterprise retail and marketplace contracts typically demand 98-99.5%. Anything below 95% usually triggers corrective-action plans or chargebacks.
- Why is my SLA attainment gap to target negative? A negative gap means you're under target. In the example, 94% against a 95% target leaves a 1-point shortfall, close enough to close with wave-timing and cutoff fixes rather than capacity.
- What counts as an eligible order for the SLA denominator? Only orders that were releasable and due within the measured window, exclude holds, backorders, and address exceptions, or your denominator will unfairly punish attainment.
- SLA attainment vs on-time in full (OTIF)? Attainment measures whether the order shipped inside the time window; OTIF adds a completeness test (full quantity). An order can hit its SLA time but still fail OTIF if short-shipped.
