U.S. machinery imports totalled $93.9 billion in July 2026, up 19.8% on the month and up 59.1% on the year. The common full-year customs-unit-value comparison (2025 over 2024) shows: lifting and handling equipment customs unit values fell 34.3%, and metal-cutting machine tools customs unit values rose 6.8%. These aggregates can also move with product, grade, origin, valuation, or quantity mix.
