Thermal Spray, Hardfacing & Wear Coatings calculator
Coating Batch Output Capacity Calculator
Count complete coating cycles that fit the scheduled window after setup. Enter the complete cycle seconds, fixture load, scheduled minutes and required gross output.
What this calculator does
- Count complete coating cycles that fit the scheduled window after setup.
Formula used
- Complete cycles = floor(60 × (Available minutes − Setup minutes) ÷ Cycle seconds)
- Completed parts = Complete cycles × Parts per cycle
- Unused minutes = (60 × (Available minutes − Setup minutes) − Cycles × Cycle seconds) ÷ 60
- Output margin = Completed parts − Required parts
Inputs explained
- Available Production Window: Scheduled booth minutes assigned to this coating job.
- Setup Before Production: Nonoverlapping setup time inside the available window.
- Complete Cycle Duration: Measured loaded cycle including required pauses and exchange.
- Parts Completed per Cycle: Whole fixture output when a complete cycle finishes.
- Required Coated Parts: Gross coated quantity that must finish within the window.
How to use the result
- Best suited to booth shift capacity, fixture batch scheduling.
- Partial final cycles, unplanned stoppages and coating acceptance losses are excluded.
Current U.S. benchmarks
- Industrial electricity averages 9.77 cents per kWh across the U.S. (EIA, Jul 2026), up 4.7% from a year earlier. Energy-intensive steps carry this directly into unit cost.
- The producer price index for industrial chemicals stands at 336.006 (BLS, Aug 2026), up 13.3% from a year earlier. Quotes priced off last quarter's material cost miss this move.
- The U.S. has 14,543 chemical manufacturing establishments employing about 911,245 workers (Census County Business Patterns, 2023).
Common questions
- Why are fractional cycles discarded? The fixture load is counted only after its complete cycle finishes inside the scheduled window.
- Should cycle time include cooling and exchange? Yes. Use the complete repeatable cycle, including required pauses and loading or unloading that occupy the booth.
- Does this guarantee the shipment quantity? No. This is gross completed coating capacity. Required inspection and rejected parts can reduce accepted shipment output.
- Can setup exceed the available window? No. That input combination cannot start the modeled production sequence and returns no calculated output.
