Industrial Cleaning, Washing & Parts Cleanliness calculator
Drying Batch Run Time Calculator
Estimate batch time using qualified drying cycles and handling occupation. Enter simultaneous load capacity and initial heat-up separately.
What this calculator does
- Plan total dryer occupation for a batch of whole loads.
Formula used
- Cycles = CEILING(Loads ÷ Loads per cycle)
- Loaded drying time = Cycles × Qualified drying time
- Total time = Heat-up + Loaded drying time + Cycles × Handling time
Inputs explained
- Loads to Dry: Whole loads awaiting this drying schedule.
- Loads per Drying Cycle: Qualified number of simultaneous loads for this arrangement.
- Qualified Drying Time: Approved drying occupation for the specified load.
- Handling Time per Cycle: Nonoverlapping loading and unloading occupation per cycle.
- Initial Heat-Up Time: Initial preparation outside the recurring drying cycles.
How to use the result
- Best suited to dryer batch scheduling, Post-Wash queue planning.
- This does not determine drying temperature or a moisture endpoint.
Current U.S. benchmarks
- U.S. manufacturing runs at 75.7% of capacity (Federal Reserve, Aug 2026). New factory orders are up 8.5% year over year (Census).
Common questions
- Does this choose a drying cycle? No. Enter the cycle already qualified for the material, geometry and required dryness.
- Why does a partly filled group take a full cycle? Every completed group receives the entered qualified drying occupation regardless of unused loading positions.
- Where should warm-up be entered? Use initial heat-up for preparation before the recurring loaded cycles; exclude it from each cycle if already counted.
- Can zero loads still show time? Yes. The explicitly entered initial heat-up remains; set it to zero if the dryer will not be prepared.
