Bottling, Canning & Filling Lines calculator
Seam Check Completion Calculator
Compare completed seam checks with the plan required for this run. Enter the required count from the applicable inspection procedure.
What this calculator does
- Track completed double-seam inspections against an entered inspection plan.
Formula used
- Plan completion % = Completed checks ÷ Required checks × 100
- Remaining checks = MAX(Required checks − Completed checks, 0)
- Target margin = Completion % − Target %
Inputs explained
- Completed Seam Checks: Whole completed checks or teardowns in the defined run.
- Required Seam Checks: Check count specified by the applicable inspection plan.
- Entered Completion Target: Target completion percentage for this defined inspection plan.
How to use the result
- Best suited to seam inspection tracking, production record closeout.
- Completing inspections does not establish acceptable seam dimensions or integrity.
Common questions
- Does 100 percent mean seams are acceptable? No. It means the entered check count is complete; every measured result still needs review against applicable seam requirements.
- Can extra checks be recorded? Yes. Completion can exceed 100% and remaining planned checks stay at zero.
- Where should the required count come from? Use the applicable inspection plan for the container, closure and production conditions. The default is illustrative.
- Can a visual check replace a teardown here? Only if the applicable plan treats it as the same required check. Keep different inspection types on separate count bases.
