Bottling, Canning & Filling Lines calculator
Tunnel Pasteurizer Transport Capacity Calculator
Compare lane transport capacity with the containers assigned to a time window. Enter conveyor speed, container pitch, supplied lanes and transport stops.
What this calculator does
- Estimate steady conveyor transport capacity through a tunnel pasteurizer lane pattern.
Formula used
- Steady transport rate = Lanes × Belt speed × 1000 ÷ Container pitch
- Transport capacity = Steady rate × (Available minutes − Stopped minutes)
- Demand margin = Transport capacity − Demand containers
Inputs explained
- Continuously Supplied Lanes: Whole occupied transport lanes in the qualified container pattern.
- Container Center-To-Center Pitch: Longitudinal container spacing including the required transport gap.
- Measured Conveyor Speed: Actual transport speed for the entered lane pattern.
- Available Transport Window: Time window before entered transport stops are deducted.
- Transport Stopped Time: Nonoverlapping transport stops inside the available window.
- Containers Requiring Transport: Whole demand assigned to the same transport window.
How to use the result
- Best suited to tunnel transport planning, conveyor demand comparisons.
- Thermal exposure and pasteurization-unit control require a separate qualified process model. Initial tunnel filling and final clearing transients are excluded.
Common questions
- Does this count fully pasteurized containers? No. It estimates steady lane transport; thermal acceptance and tunnel residence requirements are separate.
- Can it model an initially empty tunnel? No. Startup filling and final clearing transients are excluded from the steady transport assumption.
- Is container diameter the same as pitch? Not necessarily. Use center-to-center spacing, including the required longitudinal gap.
- Why can capacity be fractional? The result is a continuous rate-times-time estimate. It does not claim an exact whole-container completion schedule.
