Industrial Filtration, Separation & Dust Collection calculator
Filtration Project Return Calculator
Compare a filtration project’s undiscounted return over your chosen period. Enter installed investment, annual gross savings, added support cost and whole evaluation years.
What this calculator does
- Compare a filtration project’s undiscounted return over your chosen period.
Formula used
- Net annual savings = Gross annual savings − Added support
- Period net value = Net annual savings × Years − Investment
- Period ROI % = Period net value × 100 ÷ Investment
Inputs explained
- Installed Project Investment: Total installed capital from the project estimate.
- Annual Gross Filtration Savings: Documented annual savings before added support costs.
- Added Annual Support Cost: Incremental maintenance and support required by the project.
- Evaluation Period: Whole years used in the undiscounted return comparison.
How to use the result
- Best suited to collector upgrade screening, filter retrofit business cases.
- Taxes, discounting, depreciation and residual value are excluded.
Common questions
- Why can return be negative? Net savings may be too small to recover the initial investment within your evaluation period.
- What happens when annual savings do not cover support costs? Net annual savings are zero or negative. The period return includes that operating result and the initial investment, so the loss remains visible.
- Is this an annualized investment return? No. It is the total undiscounted net return across the entered years.
- Can lower pressure drop alone justify the savings? Only use savings supported by actual fan control and compressor behavior at the required airflow.
