Industrial Cleaning, Washing & Parts Cleanliness calculator

Ultrasonic Batch Run Time Calculator

Estimate the time needed to complete whole ultrasonic cleaning cycles. Enter qualified basket capacity, cleaning time, handling time and initial setup.

What this calculator does

  • Plan elapsed occupation time for a batch of ultrasonic cleaning baskets.

Formula used

  • Cycles = CEILING(Baskets ÷ Baskets per cycle)
  • Cycle occupation = Qualified cleaning time + Handling time
  • Batch time = Setup time + Cycles × Cycle occupation

Inputs explained

  • Baskets to Clean: Count of loaded baskets waiting for this ultrasonic run.
  • Baskets per Cycle: Qualified simultaneous basket positions for this loading pattern.
  • Qualified Cleaning Time: Approved loaded cleaning time for this part and soil.
  • Handling Time per Cycle: Nonoverlapping loading, unloading and transfer time per cycle.
  • Initial Setup Time: Recorded setup, heating and degassing outside recurring cycles.

How to use the result

  • Best suited to ultrasonic batch scheduling, basket queue planning.
  • This schedule does not determine cleaning time, temperature or chemistry.

Current U.S. benchmarks

  • U.S. manufacturing runs at 75.7% of capacity (Federal Reserve, Aug 2026). New factory orders are up 8.5% year over year (Census).

Common questions

  • Why does one extra basket add a full cycle? The final partial load still needs the full entered cleaning and handling cycle.
  • Where does initial degassing belong? Enter initial degassing and heat-up in setup when they occur before the recurring loaded cycles.
  • Can I use a shorter cleaning time? Use the time already qualified for the part, soil and solution. This calculator does not establish that process setting.
  • What happens with no baskets? Only the explicitly entered initial setup time remains; enter zero setup if no preparation will occur.
