Weighing, Dosing & Loss-in-Weight Feeding calculator
Scale Display Resolution Calculator
Compare a scale’s displayed increment with the dose you need to weigh. Enter net scale capacity, display readability and the ingredient dose.
What this calculator does
- Compare a scale’s displayed increment with the dose you need to weigh.
Formula used
- One increment % of dose = Display increment g × 100 ÷ Dose g
- Capacity divisions = Net capacity kg × 1000 ÷ Display increment g
- Dose divisions = Dose g ÷ Display increment g
Inputs explained
- Scale Maximum Net Capacity: Usable net capacity after accounting for the container tare.
- Displayed Scale Increment: Smallest displayed mass increment on the selected range.
- Dose Being Weighed: Net ingredient dose for the resolution comparison.
How to use the result
- Best suited to microdose scale selection, display increment comparisons.
- No accuracy class, minimum weight or dosing acceptance limit is inferred.
Common questions
- Does one percent resolution mean one percent accuracy? No. Resolution describes display steps; accuracy also depends on calibration, repeatability and operating conditions.
- Why use net capacity? The container tare consumes weighing capacity, leaving less capacity for the ingredient.
- Can dose mass exceed net capacity? The arithmetic remains a comparison, but such a dose cannot be weighed in one load on that usable range.
- Does the division count certify an accuracy class? No. Approval depends on the certified instrument and applicable test requirements.
