Batch Ingredient Mass Reconciliation Calculator
Reconcile ingredient entering and leaving a defined dosing-system boundary. Enter opening inventory, additions, verified delivery, closing inventory and recorded waste.
What this calculator does
- Reconcile ingredient entering and leaving a defined dosing-system boundary.
Formula used
- Available ingredient = Opening inventory + Added mass
- Accounted ingredient = Dispensed mass + Closing inventory + Recorded waste
- Unexplained difference = Available ingredient − Accounted ingredient
Inputs explained
- Opening Material in System: Ingredient inventory inside the defined boundary before the batch.
- Ingredient Added During Batch: Verified material additions across the same boundary.
- Verified Dispensed Ingredient: Ingredient transferred out as measured batch delivery.
- Closing Material in System: Measured residual ingredient at the end of the batch.
- Recorded Waste and Samples: Documented material removed without entering batch delivery.
How to use the result
- Best suited to batch material closure, hopper inventory investigations.
- The difference does not identify theft, leakage, contamination or scale bias.
Common questions
- Should retained material in a screw be included? Yes. Include retained ingredient inside the chosen system boundary in closing inventory.
- Why allow a negative difference? It exposes inconsistent measurements or boundaries instead of silently clamping the balance to zero.
- Can packaging tare be included? No. All entries must be ingredient net mass on a consistent basis.
- Does recorded waste count as missing material? No. It is already explained by a documented withdrawal and belongs in the accounted total.
