Weighing, Dosing & Loss-in-Weight Feeding calculator
Feeder Running Time Utilization Calculator
Measure how much scheduled time a feeder actually spends feeding. Enter logged feeding minutes, the matching production window and your minimum utilization target.
What this calculator does
- Measure how much scheduled time a feeder actually spends feeding.
Formula used
- Running utilization % = Feeding minutes × 100 ÷ Scheduled minutes
- Nonfeeding time = Scheduled minutes − Feeding minutes
- Target margin = Running utilization % − Required share %
Inputs explained
- Recorded Feeding Time: Minutes actually feeding within the observed production window.
- Scheduled Feeding Window: Scheduled minutes for this feeder, including recorded stops.
- Required Running Time Share: Planned minimum feeding share for the same window.
How to use the result
- Best suited to feeder stop reviews, scheduled time reconciliation.
- Running at a low rate still counts as feeding time.
Common questions
- Does refill count as running time? Count it when material continues feeding; classify actual feed interruptions as nonfeeding time.
- Can scheduled breaks be removed? Yes, if your agreed denominator excludes them consistently across every comparison.
- Is this capacity utilization? No. It measures time, not mass flow relative to the feeder rating.
- Can several feeders be combined? Use summed feeder-minutes in both numerator and denominator, with the same scheduling rule.
